Cervinia sits at 2,050 metres on the Italian side of the Matterhorn — which the Italians call the Cervino — and its combination of altitude and glacier access gives it the top Christmas Snow Score in Italy by a clear margin. The lifts climb to the Plateau Rosa at around 3,500 metres and over the ridge into Zermatt, so you can ski to Switzerland for lunch.
