About Chalet for Christmas

Chalet for Christmas is a guide to one week of the year: Christmas in the Alps. It covers which resorts are most likely to have snow in Christmas week, what each resort is like at Christmas, and the chalets you can book there.

How the research is done

Every resort figure on this site (village altitude, the top of the ski area, piste kilometres, snowmaking) carries the source it came from and the date it was checked. Where we have not found a figure we could source, the page says so rather than estimating one. Resort descriptions and Christmas notes are our own writing, based on those sources and on the resorts’ published Christmas programmes.

The Christmas Snow Score is our own measure of how reliably a resort has skiable snow in Christmas week. The method, the weights and every input are published on its page, with a CSV of the full table.

Chalets and how the site is paid for

We do not own or let chalets. The chalets listed here come from our booking partners, and each chalet page is written from the facts the partner publishes: capacity, bedrooms, facilities and distance to the lifts. When you book through a link on this site we may earn a commission. It does not change your price, and it does not change a Snow Score, a ranking or what we write about a resort.
