Cookie policy

Awaiting legal review. This describes how the site actually works and is accurate to the best of our knowledge, but it has not been checked by a solicitor. Company registration details are not shown because they have not been supplied.

There is no cookie banner on this site because, as it currently stands, there is nothing to consent to.

What we set

  • A session identifier in your browser’s session storage — not a cookie — which is deleted when you close the tab. It is a random string used to group one visit’s searches together and contains nothing about you.
  • Your group size, if you enter one in search or the trip builder, kept in the same session storage and deleted when you close the tab. It is added to the booking links you click, so the partner’s site opens for the right number of guests.
  • A first-page marker, a single “1” in the same session storage, so the first page of a visit is counted as where the visit landed. Deleted when you close the tab.
  • An authentication cookie, but only on the admin area, and only for a signed-in administrator. It is never set for ordinary visitors.

What we do not set

No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels, no social media trackers, and no analytics cookie that identifies you. Our page analytics is aggregate and cookieless.

Cookies set by other people

When you follow a booking link, the affiliate network (CJ Affiliate, Paid On Results or Travelpayouts) and the booking site (Booking.com, Expedia, Skiworld or Kiwi.com) set their own cookies on their own domains so that a booking can be attributed to us. Those are governed by their policies, not this one, and they are set only once you choose to follow a commercial link. What this means for your booking is explained on our affiliate disclosure page.

Google Maps on chalet pages and cards

Some chalet pages show a photo or an interactive satellite map loaded from Google, and some chalet cards in listings show a satellite view loaded from Google. When it loads, Google may set or read its own cookies on its own domains, under Google’s cookie policy. We set nothing for it and receive nothing from it.

If this changes

If we later add analytics or advertising that requires consent, a consent banner will appear before anything is set, and this page will be updated to say exactly what it does.
