Privacy policy

Awaiting legal review. This describes how the site actually works and is accurate to the best of our knowledge, but it has not been checked by a solicitor. Company registration details are not shown because they have not been supplied.
The short version: we do not ask you for anything, we do not know who you are, and we do not sell anything to anybody.
What we collect
- What was searched for. The filters, resort and guest count used in a search, so we know which resorts and features people want that we do not yet carry. No name, no email, no IP address is stored with it.
- Outbound clicks. Which partner link was clicked and from which page, so we can tell what is useful and be paid correctly.
- Aggregate page analytics through our hosting platform, which reports visitor numbers and page performance without profiling individuals.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or store your email address, name, address, phone number, date of birth or any payment details. There is no sign-up on this site and no account to create. Bookings happen on the partner’s own site under their privacy policy, not ours. We do not store IP addresses against any event, and we do not build advertising profiles or sell data.
The session identifier
Search and planner events carry a random identifier that lives in your browser’s session storage. It is deleted when you close the tab, it is not a cookie, it does not follow you between visits, and it contains nothing about you — it exists so we can tell one visit’s twelve searches from twelve people’s one search.
How long we keep things
Search and click events are kept as operating data. They are not linked to a person and there is nothing in them that could identify you.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice we hold nothing that identifies you, so the honest answer to a request will usually be that there is nothing to return. Email hello@chaletforchristmas.com and we will act on it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Who we share with
Our hosting and database providers process data on our behalf in order to run the site. When you follow a booking link, the affiliate network records that the click came from us — that is how commission is attributed. We do not pass them anything about you beyond the click itself.
