Which airport for which Italian resort?

Courmayeur and La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley, list Geneva first; Courmayeur is reached from the Chamonix side through the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Montgenèvre and Serre Chevalier are French resorts, but Turin is the airport they list first.
The Dolomites
Val Gardena's tourist board lists Bolzano as the nearest airport at 40 km, then Innsbruck at 120 km, Verona at 190 km, and Bergamo and Venice at 270 km each. AltoAdigeBus runs direct from airports to the valley, and there are trains to Bolzano or Chiusa with local buses onward. The board also flagged renovation work on the Lueg bridge on the Brenner route, which affects the road from Innsbruck, and suggested considering the Italian airports.
For Cortina d'Ampezzo, Cortina Express runs from Venice airport every day, all year, taking about two hours, and from Mestre station in about two and a half hours.
The western Alps from Turin
Montgenèvre puts Turin airport 1h20 away. A Linkbus shuttle runs from Turin airport to Montgenèvre on Saturdays, the changeover day, with six return trips. By train, the nearest station is Oulx in Italy, and the ZOU! bus takes about 25 minutes from Oulx to the resort.
Driving in Italy at Christmas
Italy's winter equipment rules are set road by road. On the Brenner motorway (A22) winter tyres or chains on board are required from 15 November to 15 April even without snow, and the Aosta Valley has its own period. Our driving guide has the details and sources.
