Samoëns is a handsome village — a historic market town known for its stonemasons, with a fine church, stone fountains and a lime tree in the main square that has stood since the fifteenth century. It is a real place with a life of its own, and that shows in its shops, markets and restaurants.

The village sits low in the Giffre valley, so the skiing is reached by the Grand Massif Express gondola, which climbs from the valley floor to the slopes above. From there the Grand Massif links to Morillon, Les Carroz and Flaine. It suits families, mixed groups and anyone who values the village as much as the pistes.
