Christmas in Chamonix
Christmas feels like a town celebration. Last season a Christmas village ran on the Place du Triangle de l'Amitié from 18 December to 4 January, and on Christmas Eve a parade with Father Christmas wound through the pedestrian streets. The valley villages run their own events.
Christmas in Megève
Megève does Christmas with style. The lighting of the Christmas tree in December comes with a surprise show, and the old centre around the church square makes a fine setting for the season. Last season the Elves' Village on the slopes held a Christmas Day event with Father Christmas.
