Christmas in Mayrhofen
Good and traditional in the right places. The Mayrhofner Advent is held on the Advent weekends in a clearing in the Scheulingwald forest, a short walk from the village, with wooden chalets, local crafts, a Christmas post office and a blacksmith at work (in the 2026 season on 4–6 December). In the village itself the après bars carry on as usual.
Christmas in Kitzbühel
Among the best in Austria. The Kitzbühel Advent market runs in the old town and the town park from mid-November until just after Christmas (in the 2026 season, 18 November to 27 December), with craft stalls, live music every evening, a Christkindl post office for children and a St Nicholas procession on 6 December. On two December afternoons (12 and 19 December in 2026) Advent moves up the mountain to the Hahnenkamm top station.
