Very good, and unusual. Because there are no cars and the whole resort is on snow, Christmas in Avoriaz has a self-contained, slightly storybook quality that families remember. The architecture is aggressively 1960s and not to everyone's taste, but the atmosphere is warm.
Christmas in Morzine
The best Christmas atmosphere of any French resort in this guide. Morzine has a proper Christmas market, the town is decorated with restraint and taste, and because it is a real town rather than a resort, Christmas happens there whether or not the tourists come.
