Sleeping 9 is the classic family or small-group size. Pets are allowed, so the dog can come for Christmas too. It is self-catered, so you cook — including on the 25th. That suits groups who want to eat on their own schedule.

It is not ski-to-door, so factor in getting to the lifts each morning. Resort supermarkets keep short and unpredictable hours over Christmas and many close entirely on the 25th. Order ahead or shop on arrival. Check the bed layout and what is included (linen, towels, final cleaning) on Booking.com before you book — Christmas week is often sold as a fixed seven nights.
