CHALET ANNAPURNA ET SON MAZOT

CHALET ANNAPURNA ET SON MAZOT is a self-catered chalet in Serre Chevalier, sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms. It has a fireplace. A log fire on Christmas Eve is one of the reasons people book a chalet over an apartment. Beds: 1 large double, 2 singles, 1 double and 1 sofa bed, with 3 bathrooms.

Serre Chevalier scores 52 out of 100 on our Christmas Snow Score, with the village at 1200m. That means it is normally open at Christmas, with the lower runs depending more on the year.

Sleeping 6 is the classic family or small-group size. It lists family facilities such as a high chair or family rooms, which is the detail that decides it for anyone travelling with small children. Pets are allowed, so the dog can come for Christmas too. It is self-catered, so you cook — including on the 25th. That suits groups who want to eat on their own schedule.

It is not ski-to-door, so factor in getting to the lifts each morning. Resort supermarkets keep short and unpredictable hours over Christmas and many close entirely on the 25th. Order ahead or shop on arrival. Check the bed layout and what is included (linen, towels, final cleaning) on Booking.com before you book — Christmas week is often sold as a fixed seven nights.
