Alpine Vibes Guest Chalet

Alpine Vibes Guest Chalet is a self-catered chalet in Morzine, sleeping 10 in 5 bedrooms. The nearest lift, TS de la Crusaz Ski Lift, is about 140m away — close enough to walk in boots. It has a hot tub, a sauna and a fireplace. In the last week of December the afternoons are short and everybody comes in cold, which is when a hot tub stops being a luxury and earns its place. Beds: 2 doubles and 6 singles, with 5 bathrooms.

Morzine scores 46 out of 100 on our Christmas Snow Score, with the village at 1000m. That makes it more dependent on the weather in late December, which is worth weighing before you book.

Sleeping 10, it suits a large family Christmas or two families travelling together. It lists family facilities such as a high chair or family rooms, which is the detail that decides it for anyone travelling with small children. Pets are allowed, so the dog can come for Christmas too. It is self-catered, so you cook — including on the 25th. That suits groups who want to eat on their own schedule.

Resort supermarkets keep short and unpredictable hours over Christmas and many close entirely on the 25th. Order ahead or shop on arrival. Check the bed layout and what is included (linen, towels, final cleaning) on Booking.com before you book — Christmas week is often sold as a fixed seven nights.
