Résidence Alpamayor

Résidence Alpamayor is a self-catered chalet in Courchevel, sleeping 10. The nearest lift, Grangettes Ski Lift, is about 180m away — close enough to walk in boots. It has a fireplace. A log fire on Christmas Eve is one of the reasons people book a chalet over an apartment.

Courchevel scores 57 out of 100 on our Christmas Snow Score, with the village at 1300m. That means it is normally open at Christmas, with the lower runs depending more on the year.

Sleeping 10, it suits a large family Christmas or two families travelling together. It is self-catered, so you cook — including on the 25th. That suits groups who want to eat on their own schedule.

Resort supermarkets keep short and unpredictable hours over Christmas and many close entirely on the 25th. Order ahead or shop on arrival. Pets are not allowed. Check the bed layout and what is included (linen, towels, final cleaning) on Booking.com before you book — Christmas week is often sold as a fixed seven nights.
