The best Christmas atmosphere of any French resort in this guide. Morzine has a proper Christmas market, the town is decorated with restraint and taste, and because it is a real town rather than a resort, Christmas happens there whether or not the tourists come.

A village Christmas aimed squarely at children. The tourist office runs a Father Christmas village in the days before Christmas, and on Christmas Eve Father Christmas parades through the centre.
